Hello,
Ive been offered some 150w Metal Halide fittings. If they are too bright for the job, can I replace them with 70w tubes or is the ballest specifically for each wattage lamp?

The ballasts are designed to work with specific lamps. At best they won't work at all, at worst they will burn out quickly. Off the top of my head, 150W lamps are slightly longer so will not fit anyway.

Thanks for the reply.
Did think so, but wanted to check.

A guy has 400no 150w and 200no 70w for £10, and he says they work fine so hoping to grab myself a bargin.

At that price, will get a few extra, and then can change the lamp if more/less light needed in a area.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Bought 10 of each wattage so should have enough for the job.
