Hi, this is my first post.
I had a short circuit in the extraction fan in the bathroom. Upon inspection I noticed that there was a lot of water in the enclosure. After further investigation I found that there was water in the duct due to condensation and this water probably dripped back. However I did not expect for the fan to fail so dangerously in this situation. Please look at the picture of the fan and notice a hole in the casing. When water comes from the duct it goes into this hole and inside of enclosure. The fan has rating IPX4. Do you think this is a design fault of this fan? Should I contact the manufacturer? Thank you.

Here is a picture of the fan. I circled the hole. The water comes from the top

No it has been installed incorrectly.

The ducting from the fan to the external vent should have been insulated to prevent condensation build up.
