I would just like to show two horrors that found today due to central heating packing up please bear in mind this system was fitted by british/scottish gas and needless to say not cheap
1) pump gone after looking up here discovered need to replace pump due to 3 amp fuse continually blowing we disconnected the feed and put heating on so diagnosed but please look at image and you will see how the pump was yes you are seeing correctly fitted upside down from what i can gather this is a really easy fix as long as back part of the pump is on the correct way as recommended by arrow and you undo the allen bolts and turn unit to suit making sure electrical component would never be dripped on to causing short

So after do this hubby and i decided to look at the boiler which has a a wee leak and tbh should have been fixed ages ago however again gaining confidence took the front panel of to ascertain where leak was from only to be confronted with 2nd image a copper connection to the condensate drain ooh and guess what loads of corrosion
How can ppl get away with this both are really serious issues as far as i am concerned and luckily both my hubby and i looked up b4 attempting any of this and so in the long run probably saved ourselves loads
