Hi there,

Any semi-D house owners who run an Intergas Combi Compact HRE 36/30?

We're planning to replace our 20 yo++ Potterton Neatheat.

Can anyone share their experience?

We have 3 requirements:

1) Save LPG consumption (we live in a village with no mains gas)
2) Hot water for a good showers (we're looking to renovate the bath for a shower)

Our heating engineer recommends a Vaillant 837 combi modified for LPG.

Thanks

Have two to look after now, one in doors and one at Daughters.

Intergas and Atmos intercombi (more or less the same boiler) are the best boiler on the market by a long way.

Can I ask the size of your property and the number of ppl living in?

We have a 3 bed semi-D with 1 bath - just 2 adults.

We want hot water showers and if someone was using the kitchen sink - does it affect the pressure drastically?

We're planning to have a little additional to the family and want to be sure the combi does the job well!

Mine is 2 and a bit with one adult, get an excellent shower.

Daughter I connected the combi to the sink/utility then a Y plan with a cylinder serving the bath.

Both have performed as expected. mine is a year and two weeks old.

As with any combi (other than the monsters) they are designed for one outlet and you could suffer if a second was used at the same time.

There's lots about them, if you do a google, my boiler is very well documented under thescruff.

You can't be that far from Dan Robinson who is the main Atmos installer, and comes very recommended. you'll see he posts in here.

That's just the thing.. I can't seem to have a local certified LPG heating engineer specialising in Intergas...

they seem to work on the big names...

Ad is still open.. for an Intergas LPG specialist to work on our heating system in Berkshire...

Dan Robinson is LPG register, as I said he mostly installs the Atmos which is virtually the same boiler manufactured by Intergas.

If you click on his user name his details are in his profile.

Whats the nearest town

I've just looked at his company's website and emailed to him directly.

Nearest town is Maidenhead.

That is a feature of the water supply and NOT specific boiler make issue.

Its slightly worse because the internal resistance of the intergas combi is probably slightly higher resistance than most others. Thats not a problem unless the dynamic water flow rate was poor. With that model I would be checking it at 1.5 Bar if DHW was an important feature.

I also install Intergas boilers but not currently LPG registered.

I would avoid Vaillant, just too many horror stories and problems getting the heating rated low enough, quite apart from expensive spare parts which need frequently.

Our water pressure was measured as:

5 Bar pressure and 24 litres/min flow rate

That measurement is a static pressure and an open pipe flow rate.

Whats needed is the dynamic flow rate !

Its unlikely to be a problem in your case but makes me think the installer does not know what he should really be measuring.

Job is still open if anyone wants to install a LPG boiler in Berkshire...

EMFTeo, I have a 36/30 in a 4 bedroom detached house. it will be more then enough to heat your house. I also install them(but to far from you)

the 36/30 is a 13L/M boiler which means it can heat 13 lites by 35 degrees in 1 minute. it is fin for a good shower.

but if you need a lot of hot water(two showers at the same time for example) then a unvented tank could be a better solution.

Yes I think the 36/30 will be sufficient (we have 1 bath/shower). Our budget is limited to a combi. We run on LPG and we want to minimise LPG consumption costs.

How different is that vs. the 837 ecotec plus for CH ? We just need a boiler size for 12-14kw.

Thanks

As said without sounding like a salesman.

For quality and service there's no comparison, the manufaturers are taking the line that they can make a killing on spare parts, Vaillant are one of the market leaders in rip-off Britain.

Fortunately and the reason I have them is Intergas and Atmos haven't gone down that road yet.
