I just rang Viessmann about the new model that is due to come out and have been informed that they have now sold out of the 26Kw System, however they are not brining the new one in until they sell out of the entire range of boilers.

The question - I was offered a free upgrade to the 30Kw of the current range (as they still have this in stock) if I ordered it now rather than putting a back order for the 26Kw.

Is there a benefit of waiting (new pump better modulation, minor upgrades otherwise) or upgrading and would the 30Kw be overkill or cause problems?

The boiler is for an unvented hot water, dual coil (will have solar when the grant comes about) 250L cylinder (Joule). 8 radiators with a combined output of around 12Kw.

So you need a boiler with an output power of 14 kW !

Some people are so clueless about boiler sizing that they don't realise the disadvantages of oversizing.

I suppose you are a home owner who does not want to use a gas reg installer or thinks that all plumbers are idiots because they left school at 15 ?

Rather than making derogatory comments and assumptions, it would be more prudent that you provide a valid answer to the question that I raised.

Maybe a simpler form of English may assist, the boiler is NOT available in the UK at present. The only item they are able to supply is the 30Kw, until all stock is depleted they will not supply any other model size in the UK.

Hence the question - what are the positives and negatives of having the oversized boiler?

Just to reiterate the 19 and 26 are NOT available to order, and NO date has been provided when they will be available.
