Please please any engineers with any advice..
I have the potterton promax 24 he store. It's new, the house is only 18 months old. Last winter was our first winter in the house as we moved in in the summer. When the heating / hot water is on the boiler often makes horrendous droning noise. I have been reading other posts to try to get advice or an idea of what it is as last year I had 4 people come out, one changed the angle of the flue, one changed a pump, can't remember what the other two did! This year I have had another guy here who's only input was to put a polystyrene collar between the lid of the unit and the big grey metal box inside it!??! The noise is unbearable, often wakes us up, I've a 15 week old baby and am now at the stage of choosing between heat or sleep! I am sick of being brushed off as this is still well in guarantee not to mention that this is an ongoing problem started when the boiler was first used last winter. I have had the front off myself and even recorded the noise, it's so loud it can be heard from the garden, it often wakes the baby and I am at the end of my tether... Suggestions? For the record I am in no way going to attempt to fix this myself I just don't want to be given the brush off by another person who still doesn't solve the problem...
