It'll only take a couple of minutes to bash it off. I used to use the side of a spade in a chopping motion, like an axe. Get as much of the brass off it too cos they'll have to do that at the scrappy and the more they have to do to process it, the lower the price.

What lower the price by about 40p kilo, Wow, that'll save you a fiver or so and then ar*e about getting rid of the foam FFS! 
black bag it and throw it up in the loft as extra insulation..
