Hi,

Can someone help identify what type of board this is? It is fixed to the inside of the kitchen cupboard housing the boiler.

The house was built in 1994 still with original kitchen, so am I safe to assume that it doesn't contain asbestos?

The board itself is 6mm thick, white throughout (not painted mdf as I first thought) and leaves a white powder if you run your finger across it.
Could it be plasterboard? It isn't paper covered though.

Thanks!

Thanks!

As it is from 1994, do you think it should be tested for asbestos?

Ken778, hi.

There is a general rule of thumb as regards Asbestos, if the property was built after 2000 then there should not be Asbestos present, the LAW changed late 1999 but using 2000 is a safe option

As previous posts, several materials were and are being used to replace Asbestos
