i am tiling round the bath/shower and have fitted sheets of ply round the bath to give me a nice flat surface to tile on. i have read that you use pva to seal the ply before tiling is this right? i have a bottle of pva but have a number of options for dilution, 4:1 water:pva has been suggested on websites and this is an option on the bottle. any help would be appreciated

no not PVA some adhesives can be used straight onto wood some require a primer use the primer from the manufacturer of the adhesive.

Moz,

You say that you have used Bal Fastflex. Do I need to prime the exterior grade plywood prior to use? I intend to use Bal Fastflex to lay ceramic floor tiles in my bathroom

There is so much conflicting information for we novices!

Thank you
