New house 13 years ago. In that time have replaced HS3 actuator about 4 times and complete assembly once (last year)
Symptoms are.
1. Hot water does not come on.
2. Heating comes on but does not regulate temperature.
It seems that the system is trying to heat the boiler but valve sticks and it just heats C-H
I can usually correct it by turning off both C-H and Hot Water at the controller. I hear the valve 'zip' back to the default position and the pump stop. Then when I turn the Hot Water back on it works ok (for a while).
Since I have now replaced the actuator so many times I wonder if the controller is at fault, or even the wiring. (Each time I replace the unit I put the wires back where they came from (I think)).
I have seen a few posts where the valve sticks in the opposite way (hot water but no C-H) does this indicate that mine is wired/plumbed the wrong way?
When I take the valve head off the shaft seems to turn easily enough.
