im abotu to startan extension with a garage on ground floor. at the very edge i currently have a manhole cover, i have been told i will need to change this. I pursume its just the top lid, will it need to be sealed, or will it need to be designed for weight (car), even tho it would never be drove on. Not got my plans to LABC yet so just want to know, thanks

will the location of the new building render the manhole internal as opposed to its current external definition/status.
if so, then you will need a lockable screw down double seal m/h cover and frame.
