What to look out for when fitting large windows (210cm width

Hi all,
My builders in soon to fit the window (210cm x 1115cm) ..my garage conversion job.
What should I look out for to ensure its done well? (specific fixing requirements?) I discussed briefly and I gather usually windows are secured only on the sides, is this true?
I would like it fixed along the top horizontal which would go through the steel lintel to ensure its rigid and doesn't flex about when we use the openers in the centre. Am I just being over concerned?

CORRECTION THE WINDOW SIZE IS 210CM x 115CM !!

..
The window board on the inside, can I fit this later after window is installed or must this be installed when the window is fitted?
