Hello,

I'm sure I posted this last night but here it is again..

I'm putting up a 6' fence and was looking to use the metal spikes set in concrete to support the wooden fence posts. There looks to be two different types - bolt clamped and wedged. Does anyone have any comments on the advantages and disadvantages of using these two types?

Thanks in advance.

Fence spikes are totally crap! You'd be far better off just concreting 100mm posts straight into the ground, Your fence will last longer and you'll save on the pointless expense of the spikes.

you posted it in the building forum, its been answered there and funnily enough i gave the same answer as birdesign, although my opinion of them was slightly lower!
