Zanussi washing machine FJD 1666W

The machine was not working (none of the lights came on) so I changed the fuse in the plug and the lights were OK. But now I get an error notice E40. Help please! Urgent.

E40 is code for the door being open. Try closing/slamming the door hard a few times.

It might be the interlock not working. This is easily replaced. In meantime try the above which may be enough to get it going this time.

i had same problem last year, did all checks turned out it was soap clogged in tubes inside machine.
got different problem now starting programme any) machine begins process of filling then the programme skips to 3 minutes and starts draining and ends. help cannot afford new machine just now
