Hi all,

I am starting to build a small deck today (2.5m x 3m)
I have a load of spare 3x2 treated timber that I was going to use to make the deck.
I know 6x2 is probably better, but for such a small deck i'm sure 3x2 will be ok.

My question is, can anybody suggest how I can attach the joists to the ledger board without using joist hangers?

thanks in advance,
Matt

Lower the ledger board if you have not already fixed and just sit them
on top of the ledger board, remember to leave a gap for rainwater to drain off and scew nail them in.

dont the deck boards need to be screwed onto the ledger board aswell?
My boards are running diagonally across the frame.
