Electric oven and gas hob question?

Hi all

I have a question for you guys.

The cooker radial circuit in my kitchen is as follows...

2 cooker terminal outlets connected to a 45A DP switched cooker control unit, which is connected to a 45A MCB at the consumer unit, all wired up with 6mm T&E.

I hope to install an electric oven (rated 2.1KW) and a gas hob.

However my problem is that I dont want to have any more wiring done (just had the plastering done) and I have no spare socket outlet behind the cooker/hob combo to connect the plug for the gas hob ignition!

I was thinking that if I swap the 45A MCB/45A CCU for a 16A MCB/13A FCU and then swap an unswitched socket for one of the cooker terminal outlets, would it be safe to connect the gas hob to that socket? (fitted with 3A fused plug?)

Would this be ok? Or is there a better way of doing this?

Ive just been doing the opposite - Ive taken out an integrated oven with separate gas hob and put in a stand-alone dual fuel cooker.

The old cooker was running off a standard double wall socket - 1 to the hob ignition, the other to the oven. I take it this was 13A - although its connected to the cooker control box (does that suggest its rated higher?)

Anyway - I was told I couldnt run my new cooker with this set-up. Ive had to put in a new 30A junction box directly wired to the cooker.

What i'm wondering is why you cant run the cooker as it is - you said you have two sockets??

As I read it:

Smuggler's in't a cooker, it's two appliances

A gas hob and a separate electric oven

So he needs two supplies. The oven should be fused at 13A and the gas hob just has an igniter, so shoud be 3A or 5A
