i had a power cut while the power shower was being used, and now the shower wont work and the isolator switch is stuck in the 'on' position (but the led is not illuminated). it seems like a fuse may have tripped but i am having trouble tracking down the problem as it was installed by the previous owner. what are the likely causes of a frozen isolator switch? icon_confused.gif

its looks much like a large light switch, the switch itself is red and there is a small red LED above the switch to denote when its on or off.

if it won't move it is probably broken. Start by fitting a new one. If by power shower, you mean a pump that squirts water from the hot water tank, and if it is supplied from a socket circuit, you need an FCU with a 5A fuse fitted.

I can't see what sort of switch it is from here.

But who knows what might have been fitted? It might even have been put on an electric shower circuit.

If he was refering to a large kw rated electric shower, you dont have to have a pull switch isolator if it is switched out side of the zones as per the special locations. A wall mounted double pole isolator of suitable rating will be fine, many electric showers have isolators in airing cupboards and on landings .
