Screen Washer Pump

Hello
On my car (ford escort) every time it rains the screen washer pump comes on and stays on,i have taken the fuse out but it keeps running does anyone know how i can disconnect the motor??

The pump will likely be somewhere near the wash bottle, you'll be able to hear it whilst it is operating. I wouldn't recommend disconnecting it as your washers will then be useless. Have you tried to locate the fault? What year/model/engine escort is it?

I had a similar problem with the horn on my old car - Every time it rained the horn sounded.

It was water running down the outside of the wiring loom to the horn connections and shorting one side of the horn to earth.
A couple of turns of PVC tape around the spade terminal and re-forming a loop in the wires soon stopped it (once I had spotted the problem!)
