got a vw lupo do halfords have to take the dashboard out to fit a new stereo , the sales man tells me he may have to but im not sure . thanks michael

im not familiar with the lupo stereo but i dont think you would need to disturb the whole dash board to take the stereo out,are you able to post up a picture of the stereo?

should just be a case of putting in a blanking plate as i think the lupo has a weird shaped stereo

Here are a couple pics from my Daughters 2001 Lupo, sorry the pics are grainy, looks like the cubby hole under the head unit may have to come out first, not to sure, but the head unit deffo looks like it should come out on its own although there are no obvious holes for the metal pins to be inserted to aid removal.

hiya
im an ex vw mechanic now working in a garage that fits audio all you need is a facia plate pretty straight forward job to remove radio, two slots either side not 2 pin like std stereos
