Hi

We are thinking about having 20mm thick natural slate paving laid in the garden to form a path.

As this is only 20mm thick is it recommended to bed this down into concrete ?

I have been told that the slates can pop free from the concrete due to the difference in the expansion between the slates and the concrete in the hotter summer weather ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Is this for an edged solid path or stepping stone type thing?

You certainly want to lay tiles that thin on semi-dry or they could snap.
