Hi all,

I have a leaking tap which i'm looking to put a new washer in, but i'm not too sure how to get to it? Anyone with any ideas? I can slide the cover down slightly but can't do much with it. Do I have to unfasten the top nut?

Any help would be great, thanks! :)

Take the caps out of the heads (they'll either be screw or push fit) remove the heads with a screwdriver and then remove the cover.

We used to have these type of taps in our old bathroom and when we were kids we used to prise out the little covers, they were push on types. Made brushing your teeth more exciting

In answer to your question, as stating they look like the push on type covers. Get a little precision screwdriver and pry it out, you will find a screw in there to remove it and get at the washers.

Nice one lads, got it sorted. Didn't have to replace the washer actually, had some debris trapped inbetween so cleared that, fitted it all back and no more leaks. :)

Even got the missus to help!!

Slightly off topic, but whilst talking about kids removing the "Hot and Cold" covers. Mine removed the screw in hot marker from the kitchen tap and broke it, have been living without it since. Anyone know if these things can be bought (and whether the thread is a standard size on most taps)??
