Hi,

Our meter is 18 years old. Does anyone know how long are these left in before they are changed?
We also have a small junction box on the dno board. Is the dno likely to refuse changing the meter and disconnect us if they are not happy with this arrangement assuming that the change is due soon.

thks

Around the 20 year mark is the norm, its still somewhat of a lottery however, god only knows how they decide whats due and when, I'd just do whole estates in a swoop.

The junction box is more than likely a 'Henley' block or an earth terminal bar and is quite normal and shouldn't raise any eyebrows, meter changers don't, as a general rule give a flying feck whats going one after their meter anyway.

It all depends on the make and model of the meter Larco.

OFGEM let some run for 30yrs but others for only 10 where I work.

As Click-Sure says 20yrs is a good average.

meter changers don't, as a general rule give a flying f**k whats going one after their meter anyway.
Depends who go's, the time they have and if it's safe or not in their opinion ;)
