I have had new black plastic guttering fitted recently and where it joins onto the neighbour's system there is a leak at the join. I want to remake the join - which I am assuming contains no sealant !
I have searched the forum and there are quite a few recommendations (Cerefit, plumbers mate etc.) but there doesn't seem to be a concensus view - other than "don't use the cheap stuff from B&Q".

What would you guys recommend I use for this?

Thanks

John

Is there a leak at the join because its a strange style gutter its connecting to and you cant get the appropriate adaptor? Otherwise you should ensure the rubber is fitted approprately and the gutter is to the correct line.

Otherwise, if its a bodge job you could do with a bitumen based sealant that remains tacky. Just look for Roof and gutter sealant.

Another 'bodge' but it seems to work. I cut a strip of 'flashband' sometimes two strips to replace perished seals. lasted well since July 08.
Any one else tried this?
