fused connection units

I have a switched fcu in my kitchen that only operates the flourescent lights under the kitchen units, nothing else. Do I need the fcu here or can I replace it with a normal light switch?

If the lights are being fed from the socket ring main, and not a lighting circuit, then you need the FCU.

I would imagine that this is the case, so you do need an FCU.
