Hi,

Anyone know if a light like this (or similar)
http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/GL41PB.html

can be installed into a concrete block wall, to light a path at low level?

The block wall is the side of a flower bed, it will be rendered eventually.

How is the light actually fixed into the hole - or is it just a case of some squirty foam to hold it in place?

Thanks - I'm sure I'm being thick but I just can't quite work it out!

Cut the holes in the block just 1.0mm or so over the lamp cylinder size and use a sealant to retain them.
Once the hole is a suitable depth for the body a small hole between that and the other side of the brick is required to allow the parallel cables in and out.

If ever they need work, then at least you will be able to remove them again.

0.5w led is pretty, but useless as a light for foot traffic.

Thanks for the reply, and good point about the 0.5w!

I find LED ratings very confusing; will go for something beefier I think...

Cheers!

Would it make sense to ever want to sit on the wall?

If so, why not cap it with wood, extending out over the edge of the wall and lipped, so that you can tuck lighting up under that and have it wash down the wall?
