Hi folks,

Wondering if you can help me with some advice? Firstly i'm really not a good DIY-er so thought it best to come here for some advice before getting someone in and getting ripped off.

We have a wall mounted bathroom light with a pull cord. We had an incident with it recently whereby the pull-cord snapped as it was wearing against some fitting and so had it replaced. everythign was working fine for a few weeks until all of a sudden it has just stopped working. The pull cord will not turn it off and the light is stuck on. When you pull the cord it still 'clicks' only the power is not cut.

Has anyone any ideas of:

What may have happened?
How to fix it?
If it's an easy fix?
Is it a case of getting someone in to do it?
How much should it cost, if so?

i'd really appreciate some advice as my wife is getting impatient with my crapness!

Many thanks
Euan

Was probably designed to go on the ceiling so pulling when wall mounted is not a good idea.
