Do roofers ply their trade over the winter months ?

I need some work done on the roof and would like spend a bit of time
researching it but also need to have the job done by mid-Jan when I go
abroad.

Should I just pay now because time is going to be short over the winter months.

BTW I am Brighton based - will welcome quotes from roofers on this forum
but not sure about the netiquette of doing that.

regards

absolutely! winter is normally busier than summer due to storm damage/heavy rain.

though in an ideal world the bigger work would be better done in the spring/summer.

We build 4/5 extensions per year so at least two of the roofs are built during poor weather, i.e. from May through to September!!!!

Whatever you decide don't pay upfront , pay either in stages on certain work completion (i prefer this on big jobs) or pay on completion.
