Can anyone suggest what the problem is if my combi boiler fires up for hot water and after about 30 seconds it clicks off, the red light comes on and the water goes cold? You can get boiling water but only for a few seconds.

Help!

i think you need to call in a local RGI,who specialises in combination boiler repairs to sort this out :D

Thanks but no thanks - way too expensive! Will just have to wait till someone here who knows what's wrong can tell me so I can replace the part myself.

the money you have saved on gas over the last few weeks should go torwards getting someone round to look at Don`t be silly, come on.....get a recomendation from someone u know and call em up..... if your heating works then it will more than likely be something cheap like a diaphragm, HW switc, dirty heat ex..........aps.........

I just don't get why someone can't suggest anything without trying to get me to pay for a boiler specialist? I can do almost any repairs myself if I know what I'm looking for.

Daisy Daisy give me your answer do,
You're half crazy, all cos you're boiler's blew.
It won't be a stylish aff-air,
If you can't afford the re-pair.
Cos you won't look sweet,
out in the street.
With yer all blown in two.

Because it's doing someone out of a job? That and the fact there could be a number of things wrong.

I'm sorry for those of you who have to be so rude for no reason. I am genuinely wanting to fix a very annoying problem.

I can't afford to pay up to £100 an hour for someone to look around (up to £300 I've been quoted to diagnose!). So I'm very sorry if I'm doing someone out of a job but I can't afford to pay for someone else to do it with those kind of fees!

Thanks for no help at all and lots of insults - I hope you never need advice!

and the bad attitude....poor old boiler is poorly and needs seeing to! given you some idea`s already....not much info to go on though, we got hairy balls not crystal balls....
