I understand that all these forums have rules - But If you read my question , you will see that it belongs as much in the Painter & Decorator section as it does in the Power tools section , also by posting in two forum departments , I double my chances of getting a helpfull reply , which "according to your welcome page " is the entire point. ????

deffo take the hard work out of it

i would buy a delta sander (small triangle head) or a multimaster with attatchments, finger sander etc

also a 6" random orbit sander for doors/larger areas

you can also buy little sanding drums that fit in a drill that may be handy for the spindels

dont forget decent dust extraction/mask etc dont forget old paints contain lead

A power sander is a must , but get a good one or two ,
I have had a few sanders but the latest is a Bosch blue 1/3 sheet GSS23A about £70 but its worth every penny as its quiet , very low vibration and it sucks up the dust as it goes in its own little cannister and as above a delta sander is also very usefull

Curiously enough, next week Aldi are doing 1/4 sheet and detail sanders for less than a tenner each - with 3 year warranty......worth a punt?
