Hi

I recently ordered a Bauhaus wall mount rectangular sink and have noticed that the side edges are noticeably bowed. Over a depth of 305mm it bows inwards by about 4mm. It might not sound like a lot but, because of the position of the sink, the eye is drawn to it. Additionally the underside is unfinished, ie lacking an enamel finish.

Is this the case with all ceramic sinks?

If I want straight lines do I need to go for a resin sink?

Thanks in advance

There used to be a catalog @ the plumbers merchants with photo`s of acceptable blemishes in Brit Standard .....Until we stopped producing basins/ sinks etc. You probably got one made IN China

Hi Nige

I had assumed that most sinks were made in Spain.

Since posting I have had a closer look at sinks on line and I guess that all of them are bowed to varying degrees...

Must be something to do with the casting process.

Perhaps it is just less obvious with rounded sinks
