Tap does not close fully. It has to be screwed down very tight to stop the drips. Changing the washer makes no difference.I think I have to dismantle the works to correct this. But how do I do it? I have swapped the cold mechanism for the hot. But whichever side it goes the trouble remains. The other mechanism is OK either side!

You undo it. Same way you take anything apart. icon_eek.gif

Could be - but the op has swapped the heads over and indicated that it's the head mechanism and not the seating thats faulty.
