Bristan shower

Hello all. New member here.
I have a Bristan shower

and it has lately started to run on the cool side.
It has done it once before, but then my wife got it working again. A collegue mentioned something about a thermostat, possibly located on the top

and I wanted to know if it is an easy task or if I should wait for a professional.
I haven't worked for over 14 months, following a road traffic accident, and I really cannot afford a plumber, so if I can fix it myself, I can save myself a real bundle.
Your wisdom and expertise will be greatly appreciated.

If you run the shower on full hot and then full cold a few times it can sometimes help otherwise it will need a new cartridge, you cannot access anything from the top, you need to take the front off.

Do you live in a hard water area. Sometimes soaking the cartridge in white vinegar can resolve the problem.

Worth a try before shelling out on a new cartridge.
