Thermocouple

Hello there , ive just changed the thermocouple in my potterton puma 100 as it failed last week so pilot light would not stay on and it hasnt been a week and it has failed again.Any ideas what may cause it to fail so quick or was i just unlucky with the new part i bought?Thanks

I am almost certain this boiler does not have a thermocouple

done it myself if you dont position the thermo correctly the pilot flame burns it out but would normally take about a week
 
The Permanent Pilot Puma has a thermocouple.
It looks like a SIT tc, and you can get a "universal tc" to stay in the hole, but in fact the puma tc is different. It has an extra ring at the lower end which determines the position in the flame.
Pumas get other problems in that area which any corgi bod would know about.
