hi I have just removed my bathroom tiles (2 rows) however I also managed to pull off most of the plasterboard as well, including a rather large hole! Should I add plaster or renew the plaster board? what should I be doing? Thanks for any advice !![/list] |

I'd patch plaster it. you don't have to be good at it if you're tiling over the top. if the hole is big then stick a piece of cardboard in it to block it up so the plaster can stick to something |

cut the board back to the stud and replace theres no need to involve plaster if your tiling over. |

The cracking is due to the water being sucked out before it has time to set. To slow this down, give the wall that you are going to plaster, 1 or 2 coats of watered down PVA, let the fist one dry then apply the second coat of PVA and then plaster over. That should slow down the drying speed.
