Help! I am rennovating my grandma's house. The stairs are very steep, but don't really bother me. Other parties want to change them, but this would encroach on space in 3 other rooms. They are thinking about the future and what would happen if I move out. Does anyone know if there is a legal requirement for old stairs in an old house if the public could have access e.g. holiday cottage? i.e. would they have to be changed for legal reasons in the future?

Your best bet is to ring the BCO in your area. They have to be a certain angle but not always.
