I was working on a 12 gang gridswitch today - it was hanging off the wall so I re secured it. It controls various lights which are fed by two seperate mcbs on the distribution board. I noticed that all the cpcs were connected together to the back box. Is this normal/correct practice as it is effectively connecting the cpcs of two circuits together?

regards, Paul

All cpcs are connected together at the cu.

If the faceplate is metal this must be connected to cpc.

Keep the neutrals of the two circuits separate, of course.

It's perfectly normal to have cpc's joined together.

In face, as the cpc shouldn't carry any normal current, it's also common practice to have a common cpc for multiple circuits, such as when running singles through conduit.
