We no longer use it with wood and have installed gas logs. The fire place never had a damper installed (?) and we have sealed the lower part of the chimney with sheet metal to hold the heat in; however; we still need to seal the edges between the masonry and the sheet metal (to wide for fire caulk). What kind of fireproof insulation can we purchase, if any? |

one can buy in Uk at least a sort of fire proof rope/string. Woven white stuff maybe used for stove doors... |
