Hi,
I wish to put a door from the kitchen into the garage. The wall is not load-bearing and i realise that i need a fire resistant door. How long does it need to fire-proof for and is there any other building regs i need to worry about.
I know i should get local approval, but they seem to want plans and visits which would cost over £400 - this does not seem reasonable for simply fitting a door. How long has this regulation been in place and what problems may i encounter if i just did it and kept quiet?

it needs to be 1/2 hr and you need a step down into the garage of 100mmm your BCO is being a bit tight if he is insisting on you submitting drawings you should be able to do this under a buildings notice. |
