I was cleaning my v dirty extractor fan and stuck a pen in it (i know, I know) something clicked and now it won't work. I can't see any obvious switches etc that I amy have knocked.
Help? Do I need an electrician to fix it?

thinks: I wonder if it will break if I poke a pen in it?

bang

thinks: yes.

Fans are cheap enough, best have a new one fitted.

One of the easiest jobs to do (if the new one is same size as old) but if you truly know nothing, perhaps not for you. Ask friends and neighbours for a recommendation, should be able to get an idea of price (subject to complications) over the phone. Look up the size, make (?and model?) of the old fan and how it is attached, where the wire comes from and tell prospective tradesmen. It does no harm to sound as if you know what you're talking about.
