Does the earth wire need to be connected to the switch plate and the back box or only the switch plate. I have found the earth wire connected to the metal box.

Have now fitted all but one, it only has one earth wire and cannot be split, any suggestions please?

The idea is not to put one earth wire to each bit, but both earth wires together in one bit, and take another bit of wire to the other bit, I suggest you re-do any switches you haven't done this on.

Same principle spplies to the last switch, take it to either the switch or the backbox and take a link wire to the other part
