radiator leak

hi we have a towel rad that has a few pin p***k type holes on the side about a third of the way up.
Turned the heating off but the upstairs heating still comes on there are two valves at the bottom off the rad but they have no covers turn one of these would stop the supply?

do you mean pinprick..........valve covers not needed, pliers will turn the stems, same as a normal tap.clockwise for off.
