What should the distance between gas hob & cooker hood be please. Last query dated 8th Jan 2003. Have new regs changed distance of 750 plus 50 either side of hob?

Regulations bedammed - stop and think for a moment about where a hood would be in relation to your head if it were only 750mm above the hob...

Hello b-a-s, are you trying to hurt my feelings - I am only 5' 5" tall. 750 would give ME plenty of head room. So do you know what the regulations state - or not? regards Ken

The minimum distance between hob and hood is 60, 65 or 70cm depending on which expert you talk to.
I'm sure the world's tallest man has his at such a height.

Mine is 1 metre above the hob, the hob is at 850, seems convenient to me (I am not very tall) but I wouldn't want it any lower.
