Boiler - loud humming but "dead"

Hi Folks - help please,
Have a wall mounted Potterton Netaheat Electronic boiler. Turned on hw & ch in the morning, worked fine. Some hours later went to kitchen - was greeted with a loud semi-high pitched humming from boiler. But boiler not functioning. Switched it off, left it for some time, switched back on - same noise but no sign of life. Tried again a few hours later same problem, then again, same problem. Would welcome your thoughts/advice ?

Do NOT open casing. Get expert advice. You can use CORGI website to locate a heating engineer (by selecting cenytral heating catagory) near you. Boiler has positive pressure combustion chamber and can KILL if not sealed properly. Suspect the fan has failed.
