Is it safe to run 6, 240V mains powered halogens, 50 Watts each, GU10 and 50Hz from a spur off a double socket. From the double socket is a 2.5 cable leading to a 5 Amp switched fuse followed by a 2.5 cable leading to the light switch and from that a run of 1.5 cabling that connects to each lamp.

This is what the electrician who did the wiring in my new kitchen has done.

I can't help but worry that this is not best practice and likely to be questioned when I come to sell the house.

Any thoughts would be gratefully appreciated.

Cheers
Brian
