kettling or not???

Hi hope someone can help me.
Our wall hung boiler started making a banging noise which after a few days turned to a noise a bit like the shooting on space invaders. I have bled the radiators and added fernox boiler silencer. But the noise continues. I have no idea what to try next but the sledge hammer option is not far off. Would really appriciate any help.

Sledge hammers rarely fix the problem. Telling us more about your system might be more effective. What sort of boiler, motorised valve, open vent or sealed system etc?

Boiler is An Ideal W getting on a bit now. Grundfos 3 speed pump fitted that seems to be working correctly. I guess its a sealed system but not too sure.

I'll try and leave the sledge hammer out if you think that won't help.

It will take a couple of weeks for the chemicals to have an effect.
