I recently went on holiday and some cooking oil wasn't closed properly and ended up splling all over my suitcase, how can i get rid of it without damaging the suitcase?

Hot water & washing up liquid, would be a good place to start.

on the radio, they said no to water.

try either

brown paper and warm iron on stain

talcum powder on oil, leave for several hors brush off

depends on what case is made of though
