A newly installed boiler from British gas, but they haven't come across this problem before. When the CH switches off on the room thermostat there are repeated loud bangs from the top of the boiler which last until switching the boiler off at the mains. Any ideas?

If its a combi then it may be stuck on DHW and if its a system then the pump over run may not be working ( or connected up wrongly ).

It sounds like another case of the installer knows nothing about boilers!

Its very likely to be a subcontract installer anyway.

Call their office and ask when they are going to sort it out for you. As its their fault they should have had someone fixing it today!

Dont put up with third rate service when you are paying BG prices.

It is a condensing Combi boiler. British gas engineers say they need to call out the Worcester Bosch engineers, as the technology is a bit new to them.

The Booming noise occurs while the circulating pump is still running, but after the burner goes out when the room thermostat switches off, and when the system is hot. It doesn't do it after short runs, only long ones, and even then not every time.

If newly installed and problem can not be fixed, tell bg you want a new boiler as it will be under warranty bg will get it of wb anyway.
