a mates 03 corsas stereo has been playing up,its a factory fitted item,it went off for 2 days then came back on and now displays "safe",anyone know of any problems with these units or wiring issues

Never experienced any problems with them. Safe means the4 number code needs to be put in to enable it. It is a theft prevention measure. Power must have been lost to the radio to need the code. There is a previous thread which tells how to enter the code
Look at the original post on 21st Oct.The method applies to Grundig sets in 1997 ish Corsa's and 2002 Vauxhalls with Philips equipment.

thats great,only problem is i dont have the code,its missing from the owners wallet!

get in touch with vauxhall, give them the vin number and they should get the code from their computer
