My kitchen floor is laid with Marley type vinyl tiles. The tiles were professionally laid and the floor is flat, firm and generally in very good condition. Prior to laying the ceramic tiles I intend to seal the vinyl tiles with a PVA bonding agent.
Do you think I will achieve a satisfactory result?

No, don't use PVA.
Clean the tiles well with sugarsoap to remove any old polish etc then use something like BAl single part flexible or rapidset flexible, this can go straight onto the tiles with out any primer or additives.
