I have a Glow Worm Flexicom 30CXi Combi Boiler, 6 months old. It used to be silent, but recently, when it ignites there is an incredible 'bang' which resounds through the unit and through the flue pipe to the outside. It is so loud it sounds somewhat like a car door being slammed shut.

Is this due to the gas settings being wrong, or is this normal for a Combi Boiler?

What else could be causing this loud bang?

Thanks

No, its a problem with the ignition electrodes, call for a warranty visit, they will adjust or replace.

what about the working pressure

could be an under sized gas supply, I know responses were beggars for that

mind you that were just the basket son of a hoe of boilers

Corgi excuse this but my old mans boiler has been banging for years its still ok

Cheers,
The gas supply is fairly big - not sure of the diameter - but I think 32mm, and it does not travel far from the regulator.

I will get it checked asap, thanks for your help.

domestic lads could work on and install 32 since nov 05 sime so thats ok

bet its 28mm though

get them to check it any way the Guv/nor could be knackered

Like, I say, I could be wrong with the size!

And in response to the previous question the flow rate is fine.

Its nice to hear of a boiler installer with a nice 28 mm gas supply pipe.

I have been to so many recently with a premix 35 kW boiler on 15 m of 22 mm pipe and the installer still thinks its OK because the old 24 kW conventional burner was OK.

Yesterday, I spoke to an installer who was resitting his ACS, He still thought that the meter supply was 21 mB +/- 1 mB.
